The Project
Root & Pestle offers Vanuatu’s finest noble kava blends and single origin cultivars. During the naming process, we used the provided inspiration and our own research to guide us, and we were able to come up with names that could work as an integral part of a larger identity. We chose a name with an ‘&’ symbol, to add to the simplistic design. We also tried to steer clear of using the word ‘kava’ in the name to allow for not only future expansion of the brand but also for creativity and exploration purposes.
The packaging was kept clean and minimal, using both bold colours and strong fonts to stand out and make a statement. We incorporated simple plant elements to represent the kava leaves.
