As designers at Juno, we are inspired by typography, type design and lettering, so today on the blog, we introduce you to the work of the AMAZING Gemma O’Brien, a.k.a. Mrs Eaves, typographer/hand-letterer/illustrator extraordinaire. On a side note, how awesome is her workspace?!
Gemma first made a name for herself when an experimental video she created, in which she covered her entire body with hand lettering, caught the eye of Jurgen Sibert (Font Shop). He invited her to speak at the 2009 Typo Berlin design conference in Germany and the rest is history!
Gemma has shown her work in numerous galleries, hosts hand-lettering workshops across Australia with Wayne Thompson (of the Australian Type Foundry) and has put her hand to projects for high profile clients such as Angus & Julia Stone, Vodafone, Smirnoff, Canon, The New York Times, Woolworths, Peppermint Magazine and Taranga Zoo. We are fascinated with her work and versatility so we thought we’d share some of our favourites…
